In 1969, Don Gustavo Astiazarán, president and founder, invested in his first radio station, XEMO, which is best known today as La Poderosa 860 AM. In 1978, he acquired his first FM station, XHSD-FM, located in Hermosillo, the capital of Sonora, Mexico.

He went on to purchase XHFG-FM in 1979, which serves the San Diego-Tijuana area. Uniradio continued to expand the radio group, adding stations like XHTY-FM, XHA-FM, and XRCN-AM in 1998. Today, the group comprises 13 radio stations: 5 in the San Diego-Tijuana area and 8 in Sonora, Mexico.

As our media group continues to grow, new members of the Astiazarán family have joined the company to take on leadership roles: Luis Carlos Astiazarán as Vice President of Uniradio Tijuana and Ricardo Astiazarán as Vice President of Uniradio Corp. San Diego.
